Last Summer in the City, first published in 1973, is a bitter story about disillusionment with life and reluctance to settle for what's left of it. Calligarich, like Moravia or Pavese, interweaves nostalgia with irony, and treats apathy as an indelible feature of modern man. He describes Italian class structures, the attitude of Italians towards foreigners and the relationship between man and city.
Fragmenty dziennika SI is a satirical novel which deals with society’s expectations regarding imminent and inevitable technological progress with a large dose of dark humor. The book’s graphic design is an attempt at a synthesis of popular conceptions about the title character: AI (artificial intelligence). At the same time, the cover’s all-seeing ‘eye’ of computer and smartphone cameras brings up the issue of technologically-driven surveillance.

The Warsaw Literary Premiere prize-winner’s second book is an ironic account of a 20 year-old Warsaw woman’s life. Behind this novel/poem’s vivid and sparkling language emerge the foreboding depths of a penetrating psychological story. The book’s bold typographical cover-art emphasizes the story’s expressive and uncompromising character.

The first complete Polish-language translation of Greek poet Musaeus Grammaticus’ late 5th/early 6th century AD work. Hero and Leander were lovers – each night Leander would swim to Hero’s island of Sestos guided by a lamp she light in her window. One night, a storm gust blew out Hero’s light and Leander became lost and drowned. Seeing her lover’s dead body, the despairing Hero commits suicide.

Dominika Dymińska’s literary debut is a story about adolescence, extreme body disapproval and the way in which language fails to reflect reality. Sexual relations become the main character’s substitute for closeness and affection.

Bayan Shiryanov’s eclectic, dynamic and riveting tale combines William S. Burroughs-style poetics with sober journalistic irony. Hysterical tones, confessional monologues, physiological essays and sensationalist reporting. The book’s graphic design sought to grab attention, its color scheme approached “hysterics” and mixed poster-style simplification and punk-like abrasiveness
