We wanted our design to emphasize the historical significance of the building’s architecture while highlighting the painstaking efforts made to preserve them during the revitalization. In short, we were faced with a relatively common design challenge of combining the traditional and the modern. We designed a decorative logo made up of six changeable modules which allowed the sign to exist in various permutations while maintaining its core identity. The entire design is complemented and unified through the use of a striking Yves Klein-inspired blue.
